Humbled

“Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends.”

These words are written in a book at the end of one of my favorite movies of all time, “It’s A Wonderful Life”. In case you haven’t seen it (when they replay it EVERY Christmas Eve night on NBC since the beginning of time!), George, the main character, is given the incredible opportunity to see what life would have been like on Earth without him. He sees how many lives he impacts for the better and in the end, realizes that his friends and family would do anything for him, especially when it seems his life has hit a rock bottom.

Well, today is my 30th birthday!

On your birthday, especially since the dawn of Facebook and millions of other forms of communication have taken over our lives, it may seem disingenuous to receive a ton of “Happy birthdays” from people who on any other day may not even remember your existence. Well, it could feel this way…

For me though, it’s so the opposite!

I am beyond humbled by the amount of people who reached out to me today to wish me a happy birthday because I feel as though each message was written with the intention of love, kindness, and positive energy. I see beauty in everyone who touches my life because I know that I am a reflection of what and who I attract into my life. Somehow, and for some reason, all of my friends and family are a part of my life for some greater purpose. So I, like George, cannot be considered a failure…it’s not even a possibility! I am surrounded by too much love and positivity to ever feel alone or unsuccessful in my life.

I am looking forward to the next decade of my life and hope to build upon the strong friendships that I’ve made thus far.
